Hi,
I understand that lang files are to be encoded in utf8 for egroupware
version 1.6.
At the moment, we have a number of modules which have been developped
for version 1.4, and which are in latin1. We are facing with having to
support egroupware deployments which are based on either version 1.4
(existing installations) or version 1.6. We have found that in most
cases, the same code can run version 1.6 and version 1.4. Is there a way
for the same lang files to be used for both versions? i.e. can we
specify the encoding of a lang file?
Hi, Rafael.
That change was done long time ago, to use egw_ prefix and utf-8 for
encoding for lang files, to get rid of some problems I had with
translation tools and also to unify the charset, since there was no
reason to keep using lots of different encodings being utf-8 available.
So, you can use iconv to convert your files for 1.6.
If you have any problems, let me know, or mail me a zip/tar file.
Regards.
