Latest 1.6 SVN Bug: Calendar - No "Use End Date" TIME?

Ralf, All,

There is a bug in the calendar code that prevent entering a time associated with the "Use End Date" selection. Currently when you select "Use End Date" all that is shown is the colon ':' in between where the times should be:

After you enter and save the calendar entry without the end time, you can then go back and edit the entry and the end time will be present and can be adjusted. I don't know why you can't see it when you first enter the calendar entry, but there is no question -- you can't.

I suspect it is related to a pear problem. I think this may be related to new php. I'm running on openSuSE 10.3 with php 5.2.10-29.1. When I try and upgrade pear, I get:

How this is related to the No "Use End Date" TIME issue, I don't know, but as heavily as egw depends on pear, I suspect this may be part of the problem.

What say the experts?

That problem is reported from time to time: it depends on the browser.
No sure what we can do about it. The browser is not displaying the two
selectboxes, when the whole date-time selector is made visible again.

I can not imagine how it should be related with pear. I have not yet
tested with php5.2.10, but as I wrote before, it’s not the first time
this bug gets reported. I suspect your browser.

I’ve seen this behavior on the following sequence:

Copy a calendar event
change the dates and the start time accordingly.
select "Select End Date"
Now, this problem occurs frequently.

The current workaround is:

Apply the changes once
Now select the "Select End Date"
This is working fine, thus I did not investigate further.

Seems like a problem somewhere between PHP, database and JavaScript (do
the window identifiers change?).
