LDAP crash when editing or deleting addressbook contact

Openldap crashes when I try to edit or to delete a contact (in addressbook). It crashes either with a personnal contact or a group contact. There is no problem when adding a contact (so i think it’s not a problem of rights on ldap server).

Warning, it crashes not when saving but when the popup windows opens! (so before showing the contact details).

PHP writes several warnings about “Can’t contact LDAP”, and the first one is here
/home/Sites/egroupware/www/addressbook/inc/class.so_ldap.inc.php on line 795

Openldap’s logs don’t say anything interesting !!

Any suggestion, or clue ? THX

some time reconstructing the db files solve the problem. in my suse 10.1
these db files are at
/var/lib/ldap. Right now I can’t remember the command to do so. any one
else ?

Hi,

When I’m having a problem with my LDAP base, I do (a backup of the LDAP
base in LDIF file in needed):
cd /var/lib/ldap
mkdir sov_$THE_DATE #move files from existing database to the directory sov
mv db. .bdb log sov_$THE_DATE #import $last_sov (it’s a LDIF file backup of my LDAP base)
slapadd -l /var/backups/ldap/$last_sov #halt LDAP server
/etc/init.d/slapd stop #rebuild the index
db4.2_recover -h /var/lib/ldap #start LDAP server
/etc/init.d/slapd start

After reading these commands, I’m not sure if the LDAP server must be
halter before or after the mv command…
