Logging in does not go anywhere

Hello,

This is my first install of a real (not citadel) groupware server. I followed the setup documentation and can log in/out of the setup page just fine. I created an administrative user but when I try to log in nothing happens. There is no error message but the page does refresh. I looked at the eGW access log using phpmyadmin and everything looks to be working. When I enter the wrong user/password I do get an error message.

Does anyone have an idea why my homepage isn’t loading?

No idea, but error-logging in EGroupware goes to Apache error_log. Have
a look there.

The apache2 logs didn’t show any errors pertaining to eGW. I do have two vhosts and a Gallery3 installation that showed some minor errors but nothing that indicated eGW.

Could there be something in the configuration file that might have caused this?

I don’t know if this related, but I had this problem when trying to access EGW with Opera browser. No problem with Chrome or Firefox. Not a solution, but a possible clue?

After tinkering and combing the logs for a while I re-installed but had identical results. Then it hit me that eGW uses mySQL so I un-installed, dropped the “egroupware” database and installed again. I’m still not sure what I did to mess things up the first time but the web UI now works just fine.
