I have now confirmed this send failure from felamimail in 1.2.106 using IE7,
Konqueror and Firefox on both Suse 10.0 and Mandriva 2005LE. The windows
java and apache logs are as follows: (Please send me a individual email to
send the ethereal trace to as, for obvious reason, I don’t want to post the
raw imap communications to the list)

(No java errors recorded on second mail compose and send attempt)
Can anyone else confirm this behavior??

RSET)
Lars, Ralph (on sabbatical):
I have an ethereal capture of the problem with FelaMiMail failing on
its
first send attempt as described below. I have confirmed the problem with
1.2.106 on both Mandriva and SuSE distros. If you would like me to send
it,
just give me an address to send it to and I’ll be happy to do it. This is
a
strange problem…

Subject: [eGroupWare-users] lost connection after RSET
Mates,
On egw 1.2.106, I am getting smtp errors sending or replying to mail from
FelaMiMail. It seems to be unique to FelaMiMail as other mail
applications
don’t seem to give me this problem. Below are the log entries from a
single
mail transaction. What happens is that when you press send on a message,
the
first attempt to send fails for some reason and egw displays the message:
“SMTP Error: The following recipients failed:
david(at)notthe3111skyline.com” That
produces the first 4 log entries shown below:
Feb 27 20:11:26 bonza postfix/smtpd[5112]: connect from
bonza.rbpllc.com[127.0.0.1]
Feb 27 20:11:36 bonza postfix/smtpd[5112]: 68D7F6C4A3:

Feb 27 20:11:36 bonza postfix/smtpd[5112]: disconnect from

What is weird is that if you hit send again after it times out, the
mail
goes through without a hitch. See successful send below:

From picking around on Google a little bit, this error can be can be
caused if the mailer fails to issue a QUIT command at the end of the
previous smtp transaction. Do you guys know of anything else I could
check?
I would really appreciate your thoughts on this problem. Obviously, I can
hit send twice, but that doesn’t seem right. What say the gurus?
