I am in progress of making up an upgrade path from my 1.8.004 installation(s), for now running a temporary test server with 17.1.
(there are reasons why I’m for now stuck on 17.1 as a test, which this post is too small to contain, one of them being, that old user’s habits die very hard. and very slow.)
I would like to know what exactly does the Mail app integration achieve in conjunction with InfoLog and Address Book?
Because I never ran Mail on any of my installations, always relying on MUAs like Thunderbird instead, I know very little about what the Mail integration is capable of. Any links/hints where to find more detals about this will be appreciated. https://www.egroupware.org/en/egroupware-applications/email/ is a good start and I read it already as well as watching most of the Mail related online videos, but if some more detailed list of features exists, I’ll really appreciate seeing it.
(the more ‘specific’ reason for asking that would be, whether the Mail/InfoLog/Addressbook integration is able to pick up e.g. emails sent by customers to our email@example.com type of mailbox, possibly creating / hinting on creating appropriate InfoLog entries / sorting / attaching the emails to the Addressbook entries? And whether this is available in CE release.) (Basically, trying to avoid having to migrate the current EGW based ‘ticketing system’ to a SaaS service like FreshDesk…).
