Migrating Calendar entries

I am migrating calendar entries from our current Calendar into E-GroupWare. I have successfully created the entries but did not generate CAL_UID. If I do not generate the CAL_UID what kind of problems could I run into? Are any of the other fields critical?

Hi,

not having a cal_uid will cause series problems for the synchronization
or event series. You’ll have to import the UIDs too.

Thank you for the response. We didn’t have synchronization in the previous calendar system, but we do intend to utilize it with E-Groupware. Can I generate any GUID for this or does it have to meet specific criteria?
