Hi Peter,
Hi All
I am having a problem with the Egroupware community 16.1 upgrade using
Softaculous.
I have tried the Softaculous script twice with minor variations but
with the same result each time.
The following modules are being removed when running the upgrade:
developer_tools-Sources developer_tools 14.1
etemplate-Sources etemplate 14.1
manual-Sources manual 14.1
phpbrain-Sources phpbrain 14.1
phpfreechat-Sources phpfreechat 14.1
phpsysinfo-Sources phpsysinfo 1.2_2.5.2rc1
polls-Sources polls
1.8
sambaadmin-Sources sambaadmin 14.1
sitemgr-Sources sitemgr
14.1
sitemgr-link-Sources sitemgr-link 14.1
syncml-Sources syncml 1.8
wiki-Sources wiki
14.1
egw-pear-Sources egw-pear()
phpgwapi-Sources phpgwapi()
The questions I have are:
- Have these modules been removed from Egroupware comunity edition?
Yes and No
The modules are no longer part of our default / minimal installation,
but most can be installed on demand.
Some of them are simply no longer necessary with default 16.1+ apps like
our old phpgwapi, etemplate, egw-pear, manual.
Others have been deprecated a long time like SyncML and there are two
maintained alternatives with CalDAV/CardDAV and eSync (ActiveSync). Same
is true for phpSysInfo, polls.
Some (wiki, sitemgr, phpbrain, sambaadmin) are still installable given
you install the old phpgwapi & etemplate with them.
Even if there have been no active development for them in 16.1, they are
kept in a state that they work.
Cant say anything about the Softaculous scripts, I’m in contact with
them from time to time and answer there questions.
Ralf
- Is this a possible bug with the Softaculous script?
- Has any one successfully run the Softaculous upgrade script (That’s
to say its just me andmy set-up)?
Many thanks for your help in advance!
Kind regards
Peter
