Confirmed effect with second “clean” 6230i. Could not sync with egw until phone had been synced with funambol server. Then syncing OK with egw.
I have both a Nokia 6230 and 6230i syncing syccessfully via sync4j. I am a little mystified as to how the 6230i is now working but I thought I would post the results as they might help others. Problem was I kept getting "no authorisation" message with 6230i. wbxml files showed that 6230i was producing very different XML to 6230, most notably that the 6230i was not posting logon data in the first fiile.
However I did manage to sync the 6230i with a standard funambol server (changing db names to card and cal). Then when I tried again with egroupware (reverting back to ./contacts. ./calendar)… bingo! The 6230i is now sending logon data with the first XML post, just like the 6230. Syncing with the funambol server seems to have solved the problem.
Hiya again,
I’ve partially solve the problem. Well, It seems is not a eGW code
problem, It’s just a “newbie-o-matic” problem.
SE k750i wasn’t configured correctly. GPRS was proxied and XML doesn’t
arrive correctly to my mobile phone. I’ve solved it passing over proxy
settings.
On Motorola V360 and Nokia 6230i I’ve still got problems, but Now I’m
sure SyncML EGW code is working.
Thanks and sorry for my “newbie-o-matic” last posts.

Hiya,
Maybe I post a similar question before, but my work is stacked.
I’m using EGW 1.2.04 over Apache + PHP4.
I need to sync some mobile devices with it, so I’ve installed PHP5-CGI
and configured Apache in order to serve rpc.php using it.
I’ve tested Sync4j with Outlook and PDAs. But I haven’t been able to
sync with a mobile phone.
First I think could be my phone, so I’ve tested two diferents models:
SE k750i and Motorola V3.
Then I put EGW in debug mode, and create some flags on syncml.php, in
order to analize the problem.
My clients, always, sends its first packet.
Then my server answer, in this answer it wants to begin an slow sync.
My clients say that has been a “Invalid Session” or “Protocol Error”.
Maybe, is there any problem with SyncML XML created by EGW?
I’ve compared this XML with Sync4j answers, on diference is the XML Type.
On my mobile phones are:
application/vnd.syncml-devinf+xml
while on Syn4j are:
application/vnd.syncml+xml
Then I’ve tested with www.tryfonepim.org (I think it uses EGW too or
something similar) and I’ve got the same problem.
I need someone who can test your mobile phone with my env, and/or
someone who is using syncml and let me to test my devices.
I’m not sure if…
- mobile devices are working well.
- syncml messages in this cases are correct (from EGW)
Can u help me?
