Need Help Getting SyncML and Blackberry to work

Hi to all.

I have installed the funcambol plugin into my blackberry (Funambol BlackBerry Plug-in v.3.0.8 Community Edition)

my blkackberry is a 8700 (v4.1.0.258)

my egroupware is 1.4.002

i’m using php sessions

i have the xmlrpc active

if i go to http://myservername/egroupware/rpc.php

i get this

You should access this URL only with a SyncML enabled device.

i can successfully login from my blackberry to http://myservername/egroupware and see the egroupware in the blackberry web browser

but when i configure the funambol client with my username, password, the server url as http://myservername/egroupware/rpc.php

and check the synchronize addressbook only, with remote addressbook: ./sifcontacts (i dont know if this is right)

i get this

Synchronization failed, could not open tunnel - failed

I have no data iin the /tmp/sync folder or any sync log file

also i see not any data regarding this in the apache logs

could anyone give me any clue?

I have never seen this error message. I would guess that it had something
todo with the network access setup of the blackberry and your network
provider.

Once we tried to get the blackberry working, we failed because we could not
get the direct internet access working at all.

At least SyncML does not need a tunnel of any kind. Most be something very
special to blackberry.

Hi Lars.

You where right, i had not configured the APN in the funambol plugin options.

now i am getting another problem

I have configured in the funambol options:

APN: blackberry.net
IP: 216.9.241.63
Port: 9201

Now i get this error

Synchronization failed. net.rim.device.cldc.io.waphttp.WAPIOException

Is right to use the blackberry apn for synchronization?

is there any vodafone user who has been successful with this?

Hi Again.

I have managed to get sync “working” ???

i explain myself better:

I have changed my blackberry network configuration from the blackberry apn to the airtel apn (vodafone spain). Now the funambol clinet connects with my server, and after a while, it finish the sync with a synchronization successful message

But despite of this, any contacts are being copied form the blackberry to the egroupware addressbook or from the egroupware addressbook to the blackberry. We are using ldap addressbook and i have put 2 contatcs under my personal addressbook

Is syncml working with ldap addressbook?

could this sync personal contacts? we have more than 2000 contatcs in shared addressbooks, and i don’t want to sync these

Status update.

The calendar sync works fine

the addressbook sync don’t sync anything

Not much.

i had 5 or 6 calendar entries in the blackberry and they all where copied to
the egroupware, also modifications and deletions i did where synced

put blackberry model, to see if other users had the same
