Need you opinion about wich version use

Hello Ralf and friend’s,

I use presently eGroupWare 1.4.002 with last SVN…

But I really need to use “Tracker” for my job but the feature I need is only in 1.5.001 (ACL for group… So some user cannot see other ticket from other group)

This feature is now implemented in 1.5.001…

So my question is:

If I upgrade my 1.4.002 last SVN to 1.5.001 last SVN I need to know if in the future I will be able to upgrade to the official version of eGroupWare ?

since the 1.5 is the development tree of egroupware, where the future
release is
worked on, the ability to upgrade to an upcomming official release is
possibe.
But the 1.5 is a work in progress, …
Given this you should first test the release you have in mind before you
switch.
Check out trunc/1.5 in a different location, use the data of your current
egw-instance
(export/import with the database backups) to try out.

Hello Klaus,

Thanks for short answer… I do IT !!! and works fine…

The only one “bug” I get now is in Felamimail and Tracker… I get a error message about could not loading FCKEditor…

Any Idea ? (I have the last 1.5.001 SVN

Just this week I migrated to fckeditor 1.5 and make some changes on
configuration files but I don’t get this error:

You have this file? phpgwapi/js/fckeditor/fckstyles.xml and can you open
this?
What browser are you using? If you clean the cache works?
You have checkout a clean trunk or copy 1.4 dir and svn switch branch?

It’s strange, I migrated three instances trunk-trunk and just make a clean
trunk install and no problem with fckeditor.

Yes… I can see it from the browser like http://server/egw15/phpgwapi/js/fckeditor/fckstyles.xml

What browser are you using? If you clean the cache works?

No. Just empty it… same “bug”

You have checkout a clean trunk or copy 1.4 dir and svn switch branch?

I started with a empty folder (html) and do a svn co http://blablabla/trunk/bla bla

and download it and start the installation with a “restore” of my 1.4 Database…

No. Just empty it… same “bug”

You have checkout a clean trunk or copy 1.4 dir and svn switch
branch?

I started with a empty folder (html) and do a svn co
http://blablabla/trunk/bla bla

and download it and start the installation with a “restore” of my 1.4
Database…

The only one “bug” I get now is in Felamimail and Tracker… I get a
error
message about could not loading FCKEditor…

Any Idea ? (I have the last 1.5.001 SVN

But I upgrade my old 1.5.001 instance to last SVN then I get the same error !!!

So now I’m sure it’s a “code bug” in last eGroupWare trunk SVN…

Because, my old 1.5.001 work always fine since my update this afternoon…

In the root of eGroupWare files (html) just create a .htaccess files and add this line in AddType text/xml .xm

Some instance of eGroupWare need this file to setup more PHP options…

I use it to to fix my “bug” with synchronisation !!!

But some Linux Server was setup to do not use this file…
So be sure your Linux Server was configurated to read the .htaccess file from any html folder…

OK… Happy to see you use SME Server

So for SME Server you need to run those command from command line (PuTTY):

#db accounts setprop ibayname AllowOverride All
#signal-event ibay-modify ibayname

Replace “ibaybame” by the name of your share folder on SME Server…

Do I have to run these commands for every iBay or just for a specific one ?
I did it for only one but this did not help.

OK… Happy to see you use SME Server

So for SME Server you need to run those command from command line (PuTTY):

#db accounts setprop ibayname AllowOverride All
#signal-event ibay-modify ibayname

Replace “ibaybame” by the name of your share folder on SME Server…

In the root of eGroupWare files (html) just create a .htaccess files and add this line in AddType text/xml .xm

Some instance of eGroupWare need this file to setup more PHP options…

I use it to to fix my “bug” with synchronisation !!!

But some Linux Server was setup to do not use this file…
So be sure your Linux Server was configurated to read the .htaccess file from any html folder…

whereas my iBays are in
/home/e-smith/files/ibays

OK… I understand now… You use the eGroupWare contribs on www.contribs.org to install the software…

So now can you do something for me…

Change manually the httpd.conf file in /etc/httpd/conf…

put a “#” before your line php_admin_value open_basedir…

in the egroupware section…

and restart Apache:

#service httpd-e-smith restart
#service httpd-admin restart

I know it’s not the “standard method” but I just want to know in that fix your bug…

So for SME Server you need to run those command from command line (PuTTY):

#db accounts setprop ibayname AllowOverride All
#signal-event ibay-modify ibayname

Replace “ibaybame” by the name of your share folder on SME Server…

In the root of eGroupWare files (html) just create a .htaccess files and add this line in AddType text/xml .xm

Some instance of eGroupWare need this file to setup more PHP options…

I use it to to fix my “bug” with synchronisation !!!

But some Linux Server was setup to do not use this file…
So be sure your Linux Server was configurated to read the .htaccess file from any html folder…
