New install - email page is blank - with errors in apache log

I have today installed egw and all seems to be ok except that when I go to the email page it is blank… The check of setup says that pear is not installed as per below however I have checked the applications and it is installed… I have uninstalled and reinstalled…

Can anyone help ?

I didnt see any errors in installation. I only found these after looking for errors once the email page was blank…

I still dont know what to do to resolve. Ralf

You must install mbrstring support for php if you use centos etc.
Imap extension also missing.

Try to install these first.

I have started a totally new install on centos 5 and the only problem to resolve now is

Warning Checking PEAR::Auth_SASL is installed: False

PEAR::Auth_SASL is needed by: EMailAdmin, FeLaMiMail. You can install it by running: pear install Auth_SASL

However when I do this below…

pear install Auth_SASL
No releases available for package "pear.php.net/Auth_SASL"
Cannot initialize ‘Auth_SASL’, invalid or missing package file
Package “Auth_SASL” is not valid
install failed

I am researching forums and google to no avail as yet.

Maybe you should run a:
pear upgrade-all
pear upgrade HTTP_WebDAV_Server-1.0.0RC4

And if it asks also:
pear channel-update pear.php.net

thanks for this help… I was not aware that pear install Auth_SASL was trying to access the net… my machine has no direct access to the outside world so once I broke the firewall to let it out then it downloaded and installed the appropriate package… I thought it was just trying to install from a local package. All is good now…

However when I do this below…

pear install Auth_SASL
No releases available for package "pear.php.net/Auth_SASL"
Cannot initialize ‘Auth_SASL’, invalid or missing package file
Package “Auth_SASL” is not valid
install failed

I am researching forums and google to no avail as yet.

help appreicated… Rick
