New SyncML Patch (Jörg Lehrke) - how to install

Hi
I am new on forum and eGroupWare.
I have hosting server and only cpanel, how to install (applay) eGroupWare-1.6.002-SyncML-Extensions-20091111.patch.gz for my egroupware 1.6.002

Well, I’ve got no help for you with regards to installing on a cpanel host,
but not having heard of this patch, I did some googling and found this site

which basically says it will fix some bugs/issues with eGW and syncml. I
patched my 1.6.002 server and attempted a sync using the synthesis syncml
client on my windows mobile phone with some trepidation, visions of
everything being duplicated in the back of my mind, or worse total erasure.
Basically I remember this sort of behaviour with both the funambol wm client
and the lightning plugin for thunderbird under 1.4.xx

Anyhow, nothing to worry about, syncs nicely and removes the problem where
editing an existing appointment on the wm phone would result in it being
deleted from the server but still be on the phone.

Ralf, any plans to implement this patch in the mainline eGw packages?

They are integrated now in 1.6 branch of svn and daily snapshots. New
1.6.003 packages will be available later in Dezember.

I am using the daily with wm 6.1 phone and thunderbird 2.x client , both using the appropriate funambol client, and all seems to be working correctly except I am not seeing any tasks in thunderbird come across. Setup tasks remote name as “task” in thunderbird config and stask on phone. the phone is getting them just fine and editing seems to work properly as well. I have tried stask in Tbird but it errors out with the following error in the log;

[ERROR] Error in syncing: Server Failure: server returned error code -1
[INFO] --------------------> End SyncML Synchronization <------------------

. When I use the remote name “task” in thunderbird I see no errors but also no data. Should I be putting something else in there?

The logon is standard for funambol . With the https://mysite.com/egroupware/rpc.php in the “location” box and then my username and password in their boxes. Running a sync with “debug” level logging shows a proper login conversation. I am getting data from contacs and calendar just fine. This is a problem in thunderbird with tasks only. I am not sure where you want me to append the @default at username? Sorry if I’m being thick. If you want to see the apache logs let me know and I’ll scrounge them up .

I run funambol for thundbird too. I have these seetings at the client:
Sync Options:
x] contacts Details: Advanced: remotename: contacts
x] calendar [x] tasks Details: Calendar remote name: calendar, Tasks remote
name: tasks

My options are setup exactly as yours except I have remote name task not tasks. When I tried remote name tasks I have the same error -1 as before. Any other items I can look at to see why they are not transferring to me?

please try to put a dot and a slash before the datastore names, eg: ./calendar
