New user does not have read access to address book

Hello

I have an existing egroupware installation, version 1.8.001. Data were imported from a prior installation, version 1.6. We are using this egroupware-installation over a year.

Now I have to add a new user. It belongs to the default-group. What does not work is read access to resources of the default group! For instance none of the existing contacts are readable from the new user. But it is possible to add a new contact from the new user account (still the new contact is not visible after adding it)!

I assume that acl-rights are correctly configured, as the other users (also belonging to the default group) have correct access rights.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
