I have a client involved in radio that wants to export RSS 2.0 media feeds and support flash audio and video. In order to support my client requirements I propose to update egroupware as follows:
- Update news_admin to support Filemanager links and revamp the RSS export to support media enclosures (see RSS enslosures).
- Update the egroupware RSS export incorporating the feedcreator module (see feedcreator).
- Update the news_admin site manager module to support flash media with flowplayer (see flowplayer).
My desire to update news_admin has spawned several issues I was hoping the developer group could answer:
- I don't want to reinvent the wheel. Is someone currently working on a similar solution?
- Flash media has become a web standard (necessity). Would it make sense to incorporate flowplayer in the standard list of js_include_files?
- If the egroupware developer community agrees to incorporate the feedcreator module then where should the feedcreator module be installed?
I have many more questions but these should be enough to get me going.
