Hello,
I update my EGW from 17.1 to 19. I use debian 9 apache2 and mariadb. My system is correctly updated.

Installation seem to be correct, no error message

. The first strange thing is I use “sudo apt-get install egroupware-docker” command, and I saw nginx downloading. And now, when I want to access to my egroupware page, I have
502 Bad Gateway
nginx/1.16.1

So I don’t understand.

my new problem, is I wanted to go back to 17.1, and I remove the database (I have a backup).
So docker-compose logs send me

So you are sure your MariaDB/MySQL database on the host is running and you have no password for user root?

So where can I write db name, password …

Database name, user and password are in your header.inc.php (in /var/lib/egroupware), if you already installed EGroupware / this is an update.

Is that important.

Not if you are using the community edition. We bind-mount it for watchtower container, but it does not exist and therefore has been created as directory.

Mariadb is running, but root has a password

In that case you have to either temporary reset it to no password, or specify the password in the docker-compose.yml file in the environment section of the egroupware service (it’s already there comment out):

- EGW_DB_ROOT_PW=<password>

For the header.inc.php, I controlled yesterday and I have

That means it’s a new installation no update or you had your header file in a different location. If the later is the case move it (and the files directory) to the default location and everything will work. That scenario is explicitly described in the Update recomendations and troubleshooting page in our wiki.

No, you cant not with EGroupware nor any other software installed with the package-management of your system.
