Notification issues

Hi All,

I’m experiencing problems with notifications, e.g. when tracker tries to
notify about an update, the message:
sqlfs_stream_wrapper::url_stat(‘links://default/apps/tracker/100’,2)
file or directory not found!
appears in the PHP errorlog a few dozen times, no notification is sent
in any way.

All configs are fine; not changed recently. It worked find in 1.5.003,
but since my recent upgrade to 1.6.001. Just moved to latest trunk
without succes.
Anybody experienced this as well>

a quick test on my /trunk didn’t offer me any problems with trackers
notifications…

Maybe it’s got something to do with links that point to sqlfs streams.
But hey, I’m just guessing at the moment… it’s late.

Too late indeed after spending too much time on this :-/
I’ll continue my search tomorrow and dive into sqlfs… thnx for
replying,

Not sure that this is an error at all. Depends if there are linked files to
that tracker item. The sqlfs_stream_wrapper::url_stat just stats that there
is no file
connected to the tracker entry.

Are you able to attach files to tracker entrys, and retrieve them after
closing/opening the window?

In that case you may as well check and maybe rerun search and register hooks
of all applications.
This solved a maybe related problem (attaching files to trackerentrys) with
the egroupware org installation.
I dont think that this is an notification issue.
It seems to be an issue of retrieving linked information to/from an tracker
item. (As Christian
already pointed out)

Hi Klaus,

I just checked; attach, retrieve and delete files to tracker items works
fine. I dit try the Register hooks already without any changes.
But in the meantime, I discovered it hasn’t got anything to do with Tracker,
Calender of any of the functional apps… it has something to do with my
user. All other users get all notifications (just via mail, although the
default pref is set to “eGroupware popup, mail on failure”, but that’s an
issue of lesser importance right now).

Yeah… I know, check your prefs The users I checked, including my own,
just use the default.
The reason I mentioned the sqlfs message is, that’s the only messages I can
find in any logfile around the time I’ld expect a notify.

I’m narrowing down my search, but hints are still welcome of course (esp.
since I wanna make some changes to Tracker I can’t test this way :-S)

If it comes to message sending, you are able to switch on debugging in
phpgwapi/inc/class.send.inc.php
// switching on debug with a numeric value other than 0, switches debug in
PHPMailer/SMTP Class on
var $debug = false; // false;
So if there is an attempt of emailing out via notification, with debug
switched on here, you get from some to
all messages depending on the value for debug. True just debug in the class
itself 1-xx see above.

b) that you installed notifications and the user have rights to the app
c) that your session files are not encrypted (maybe you’ve got suhosin
enabled in your PHP install)
d) that you’re doing “file-based” session handling, not “sql-based”
(that’s defined in eGWsetup -> header admin -> session handler -> PHP
session handler from php.ini

The reason I mentioned the sqlfs message is, that’s the only messages I can
find in any logfile around the time I’ld expect a notify.

I’m narrowing down my search, but hints are still welcome of course (esp.
since I wanna make some changes to Tracker I can’t test this way :-S)

Not sure that this is an error at all. Depends if there are linked files
to
that tracker item. The sqlfs_stream_wrapper::url_stat just stats that
there
is no file
connected to the tracker entry.

Are you able to attach files to tracker entrys, and retrieve them after
closing/opening the window?

In that case you may as well check and maybe rerun search and register
hooks
of all applications.
This solved a maybe related problem (attaching files to trackerentrys)
with
the egroupware org installation.
I dont think that this is an notification issue.
It seems to be an issue of retrieving linked information to/from an
tracker
item. (As Christian
already pointed out)

Hi again,

I found out where the sqlfs message came from; it can simply be ignore.
In class.sqlfs_stream_wrapper.inc.php currently in trunk, LOG_LEVEL is
set to 2. This logs the message (line 1004)
sqlfs_stream_wrapper::url_stat(‘links://default/apps/tracker/100’ ,2)
file or directory not found!

when an attachment fot tracker#100 is not found, which is completely
normal since it doesn’t have any attachments…
Items with attachments are not logged; this message should be
interpreted as an Informational.
Of course, I changed LOG_LEVEL to 1. Wouldn’t it be wise to set it to 1
in trunk as well?

If it comes to message sending, you are able to switch on debugging in
phpgwapi/inc/class.send.inc.php
// switching on debug with a numeric value other than 0, switches debug in
PHPMailer/SMTP Class on
var $debug = false; // false;
So if there is an attempt of emailing out via notification, with debug
switched on here, you get from some to
all messages depending on the value for debug. True just debug in the class
itself 1-xx see above.

Hi Christain,

I didn’t solve it completely yet, but at least I get notifications now
(by mail), so there’s no urgency.
It must be something with not finding the sessions indeed; Admin->view
sessions is empty.
All settings are as you described. I’ll debug a little more. What I’ve
seen so far is, Admin/View sessions always tries to read from the
databases, but the egw_sessions table is empty.

But like I said, there’s no urgency, so I’ll leave it for now.

Yeah… I know, check your prefs The users I checked, including my own,
just use the default.
The reason I mentioned the sqlfs message is, that’s the only messages I can
find in any logfile around the time I’ld expect a notify.

I’m narrowing down my search, but hints are still welcome of course (esp.
since I wanna make some changes to Tracker I can’t test this way :-S)

Not sure that this is an error at all. Depends if there are linked files
to
that tracker item. The sqlfs_stream_wrapper::url_stat just stats that
there
is no file
connected to the tracker entry.

Are you able to attach files to tracker entrys, and retrieve them after
closing/opening the window?

In that case you may as well check and maybe rerun search and register
hooks
of all applications.
This solved a maybe related problem (attaching files to trackerentrys)
with
the egroupware org installation.
I dont think that this is an notification issue.
It seems to be an issue of retrieving linked information to/from an
tracker
item. (As Christian
already pointed out)

have a look if your session files are plaintext. My egw_sessions table
is also empty, this is ok, cause eGW takes the session data out of php
and php takes the session out of the filesystem (for my understanding).

Ok, no need to look there any further.
Session files are plain ascii. It might have something to do with
open_basedir I guess, that’s the only thing I can think of I made any
changes together with the upgrade (although I would expect to see this
in the PHP logfile then…)
