you can use just EGroupware then it’s you choice to use CalDAV/CardDAV
or ActiveSync.

365 Clients for ActiveSync incapable Thunderbird Clients? Where on a Per
user configured basis, eGroupware could download all Office 365 Calender
events, Contacts, Tasks, and offer them as CalDAV/CardDav/GroupDAV
resources to Thunderbird?
