Pdo_dblib issue on eGroupware 1.6 install on Windows

I am attempting to install eGroupware 1.6 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2. I am using XAMPP Win32-1.7.2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. When checking the installation, I get the following warning:

Checking extension pdo_dblib is loaded or loadable: False
The pdo_dblib extension is needed, if you plan to use a MsSQL database.

I have ntwdblib.dll (version 2000.80.194.0) in both the WINDOWS\system32 and \xampp\php folders, but eGroupware is unable to load it.

Any ideas?

Also, when I attempt log into eGroupWare, I get the following error:

Database error
Invalid SQL: SELECT message_id,content FROM egw_lang WHERE lang=‘en’ AND app_name=‘calendar’:
Invalid object name ‘egw_lang’.

I have verified that eGroupWare is accessing the database, and that the egw_lang table does exist.

Hi Ormandy,

I would recommend to use MySQL and not MsSQL. I have not tested with
MsSQL since Version 1.2!

I’ve used xampp before and found it to be problematic. I ended up using wampserver which performed perfectly.
