Hi,
I want to install egroupware.
However, I have strange problems during installation tests.
Procedure
- There are some unistalled pear modules. But
- I install pear, add modules (shared hosting - web install)
- I add to htaccess: php_value “include_path” “.:/home/enauka/ftp/PEAR/”
- Installation test stops before PEAR. No message “Please fix the above
errors (Error) and warnings(Warning)*
Click to rerun installation tests” or Continue to the Header Admin*"
What am I doing wrong?
Please help.
Greg
Greg,
Install is pretty straight forward. I have never had to modify a .htaccess
file for an install. Basically the “check installation” installation tests
should show you what the problem is. Please post the output from the check
installation. Just copy from the browser and paste it into a reply.
You must fix all "X" errors. You may still have a few warnings and be fine. I
still have the following warnings and I just ignore it because I don’t care
about oracle:
Warning Checking extension oci8 is loaded or loadable: False
The oci extension is needed, if you plan to use a Oracle database.
If you don't have any red "X" errors to fix, and you understand all of the
yellow “lightning bolt” warnings, then you are done with check installation and
you should continue to Header Admin.
For pear, to see what is installed, as root run "pear list" and post the
output. If you need additional pear modules, the warning should be
self-explanatory (i.e. if XML_Feed_Parser is missing, you will get a warning to
install, use “pear install XML_Feed_Parser”.
The only other potential gotcha is that after creating or downloading
header.inc.php, you may need to make it writable by the web server so that
configuration changes can be saved, for example on openSuSE:
-rw-r----- 1 wwwrun root 5774 2008-03-21 16:57 header.inc.php
Also, are you installing this on a server of yours or on a hosted server
somewhere else?
