Hi,
I’m testing a migration to Debian 7 and EGW 14.1. I found older thread
on other topic (see bottom of message), where Ralph makes some
recommendations that I don’t know how to fulfill.
Please, is there any tested and working configuration with Debian 7? Is
there any way to do it without using packages outside of official
repository (excepting the SUSE/DEB EGW packages)?
Because
1, I see only PHP-APC in repository, not APCU
2, Is this valid way to install OPCache? Or is there other recommended way?
http://serverfault.com/questions/537287/how-to-enable-opcache-in-debian
3, Is it recommended to change in
/etc/apache2/sites-available/egroupware.conf
the php_value memory_limit 128M
accordingly to the apc.shm value? Or are they totally independent?
I apologize, the questions could seem obvious for someone experienced;
I’m not too familiar with Apache/PHP modules inner relationships.
The Ralph’s information (and the answers) seem quite important. Could
someone knowledgeable, please, also update the Wiki accordingly?

Thank You

I would not recommend APC with php5.5, better use OPCache for opcode
caching and APCu as shared memory user-level cache with at least 128,
better 256MB (apc.shm_size * apc.shm_segments).
We had a couple of wired issues with APC and 5.4 and never tried with it
in 5.5, as fully supported OPCache is available by default.
