PHP session save path incorrect?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to install eGroupWare, but for some reason the installation test says the following:

Checking if php.ini setting session.save_path=’/var/lib/php/session’ is writable by the webserver:
/var/lib/php/session does not exist !!!
You will NOT be able to log into eGroupWare using PHP sessions: “session could not be verified” !!!

I’m running Plesk with Linux Fedora 2 and have never had a PHP session problem before. Any help would really be appreciated. I didn’t find anything about this while searching.

Does anyone know how I can bypass the message quoted below? My PHP works just fine and I’ve never had a problem with sessions before.

Plesk uses open_basedir and gives PHP no access to the session dir (as
as safety precaution (same does debian). Everything, but the display of
the active users, will work.

You can either change it, or leave it …
