Phpgroupware to egroupware migration

Hi,

I have read in several posts of the year 2006 that it should be possile to migrate from
phpgroupware to egroupware.

What about in 09/2008 ? I this information still valid? I have a 0.9.16.012 phpgroupware in production for a little less that 200 users and I am considering a migration to egroupware 1.6… (once released, of course).

Hi,

their’s no migration of the phpGW addressbooks. You can of cause use eGW
addressbooks csv import …

Beside that, I would recommend to migrate to 1.2 or 1.4 first.

Ok, I succeeded in the migration from phpgroupware 0.9.16.012 to egw 1.4. Pointing to the phpgroupware DB during Header creation is sufficient (after the modification in the phpgw DB of the application version of phpgw in 0.9.16.001 as previously reported in 2006). BUT it is absolutely necessary to insert into the addressbook the users entries; witout this the users management in the admin section is impossible.

Here the good new: I’ve written a quick and dirty php script that pick up phpgroupware users information and isert them in the correct place in the egw_addressbook. Feel free to use or modify it

AFAI Remember, there’s also no migration path for sitemanager, if you
use it.

Why is that? As far as I know the sitemgr in phpGW 0.9.16 is identical
to the one in eGW 1.0.

Why is that? As far as I know the sitemgr in phpGW 0.9.16 is identical
to the one in eGW 1.0.

…probably i don’remember very well, probably caused by the postgres
backend, but afer migrating from phpw to egw, most of my pages have
empty content.

Anyway… a good starting point for a site cleanup.
