I have to stress one point: it is a very bad idea to access any
EGroupware table directly, specially true for calendar which is
constantly changing.

I would recommend to use either calendar API or CalDAV.

Thanks so much! Yes I am respectful of good-practice when using EGW. i was looking for a place to add a new field on the appt form, as I was unsure if I could manually add any columns on a table. So I was hoping to use existing elements in the DB and just create the field on the form and point it to an existing place. I have purchased the manual and will now read as much as I can.
