Possible idea for threaded emails

Hi all,

In a different (unrelated) topic Stefan and me talked about a feature that would be nice to have: Threading of mail messages.
I was going through some settings and noticed that there is an IMAP command called “THREAD”.
I was wondering if this might be used for threading.

If yes, I would prefer this to be configurable (threaded/nonthreaded view) per mail folder.

Anyway, this is just an idea, please let me know if this can be made workable.

Hi Joost,

I’m aware of IMAP THREAD command, and yes that would be necessary, thought all major IMAP servers seems to support it nowadays: https://imapwiki.org/Specs

Our UI component (eTemplate2) also supports threads, so it’s only a matter of having time and budget for it
