Hi David,
Ralf, All,
egw: 1.8.002 (svn)
I have had a long standing issue that I am just getting around to solving. In
my egw install, I have the default ownership of calendar events (Calendar
Preferences -> Default Preferences -> “Preselected group for entering the
planner”) set to a particular group which I want all events entered under so
that all group members are participants of the event – and each receive alarms
set for the event.
This works fine when events are entered in egw. However, when events are
entered from my iphone, then all events and alarms are entered under my user.
1.8.004 allows to sync other shared calendars to your iPhone. Go to
GroupDAV, select them and then they should show up on
your iPhone.
Hi Ralf,
I guess I wasn’t clear in my first try. All of the information I want to
sync from the calendars to the phone is set in Preference -> GroupDAV and they
work fine for ‘me’ when I enter them via the iphone. But… they are only
entered for ‘me’ and not the group. What this means is that every event that
is entered on the phone must be edited in the egw interface and have all
additional group members added as participants to that event.
All members of the group --are-- made participants of the event if I enter
the event in the egw interface originally, but if I enter the event on the
phone originally, ‘I’ am the only participant for the event. Is there a way to
make the group members participants of events if the event is entered in the
phone – just like they are when I enter the event in egw?
Or, is this a limitation that you were explaining here:
(2) what egw mysql table could I query to look at how the events are received
that might explain why the preselected group is used when entered directly in
egw and not when entered via the phone?
Preselected group is an EGroupware user-interface thing, it just selects
that group, when you click on the planner.
I think I under stand it now. It only works in egw due to the preselected
group being just an interface setting.
It would be nice if that setting could be applied as a GroupDAV setting as
well. This would eliminate the need to edit all events entered by the phone
twice --> (1) when originally entered on the phone; and (2) a second time in
egw to add the participants to the event that doesn’t happen when entered by
the phone.
Sure would be a time saver. Let me know if that is something that makes
sense. Also let me know if it is worth a feature request and I’m happy to open
one up. Thanks again for all the great work and help over the years.
