Problem installing

Hi, I’m trying to install eGourpware on a server with my shared hosting provider. Set up a SQL database and header.inc.php file. After that when I try and login to the setup/configuration part I got a failure notification: Call to undefined function EGroupware\Api\ADONewConnection(). The professional help from eGroupware advised me to install Composer. I did so and composer.phar is installed in bin/composer. But after this I’m still not able to login to the part where I can configure eGroupware. Can anyone tell me how to move on with this?

How did you do the installation?

If you install via Git, you need composer as well as myrepo, as described on our Github page: https://github.com/EGroupware/egroupware/blob/master/README.md

If you download an archive from our Github download page (https://github.com/EGroupware/egroupware/releases) make sure to use the full archives (egroupware-epl-*) and not the automatic provided ones by Github (Source code). The full ones contain all requirements and therefore need no Composer.

Anyway shared hosting servers are the worst installation platform for an application like EGroupware

Recommended is always a (maybe virtual) root-server with RPM or Apt packages for the Linux distribution you use.

Thank you so much Ralf. My SQL tables are set, the parts from the program are installed. Thanks to using the epl archive. But I’m stuck again. This time I think it has to do with what you mentioned. In configuration paths are asked to be set for files and backup. I made two maps in my base map (and I mean not the public_html): /egroupware/files and /egroupware/backup. When I fill in these paths, I get a reply that these maps are not there. Therefore I cannot continue in my installation process. And no I have no root access, but I do have SSH access. What can I do?

Not sure what you mean with maps.

If setup reports it can not access the path you specified for files our backup, it probably cant.

One reason why you cant could be you or your provider enabled open_basedir and that 2 paths are not added.

Sorry, folder I mean. In Installatron I can enable open_basedir, by default it isn’t. But when I do so the whole website is going blank. The folders rights are all set to 700. Any ideas?

Traversal rights? Can the webserver access the designated directory for files or backup and travers all directories before them?

Sorry, I’m not familiar with traversal rights. Can SSH into my part of the shared hosting but have no root access. Therefore I cannot ftp or cd into /var/lib/egroupware/default/files. What I did was creating a folder in the part where backup, domain and public_html folders are.
