Dear egroupware team.

I have two problems while trying to sync my egroupware server (current
trunk) with evolution and a android phone.

When trying to sync via caldav from server to phone / evolution there
are no alarms. (I did sent this behavior a few days ago to the german
user mailing list, received no answer).
Active sync at my phone says I have to check username and password,
how do I have to fill the settings when using my own no-ssl server with
http://ip/eggroupware as installation?

As far as I know ActiveSync is only available for the EPL version of EGw.

EGroupware transports alarms via CalDAV, here’s an example VALARM
component of a VEVENT:

BEGIN:VALARM
TRIGGER;VALUE=DURATION;RELATED=START:-PT5M
ACTION:DISPLAY
DESCRIPTION:Test mit Alarm
END:VALARM

Maybe the action “DISPLAY” does not trigger an alarm in Evolution. Have
you tried adding an alarm in Evolution, does it show up in EGroupware?

To diagnose problems like that, it makes sense to switch trafic logging
on in CalDAV|CardDAV preferences and share the log, just from the PUT
request, when you add the alarm.

You could also create an event with an alarm in EGroupware, go to CalDAV
test page on your server:

http(s)://your-domain.com/egroupware/groupdav.php/calendar/

Identify event eg. by it’s subject, download the iCal and ask on
Evolution list, why the included alarm is not displayed in Evolution.

Evolution is not one of the clients we (Stylite AG) test with on a
regular basis. If we know about a problem and what’s necessary to fix
it, we usually do.

eSync (Active Sync protocol for EGroupware) is only released in EPL.
Therefore there’s not much docu about how to use it in Trunk.
If you are not yet using our Apache configuration file:

you need to add a an alias for active sync to your Apache config eg.
.htaccess file (adapt to path of your installation!) and restart Apache:

error log when trying to sync the calendar with my HTC Sensation
(Android 4).

You probably tried to sync a calendar without having mail configured.
ActiveSync is an Exchange protocol, you also have to configure mail and
for many clients syncing mail is a requirement (some can switch it of,
eg. iOS).

What do you mean by configuring mail? I have configured mail for my user
leuchtfeuer via webinterface and can access the imap server.

Do I have to configure mail at another place?

So you probably configured a user specific profile. Go to eSync
preferences and select your working profile there.

you need to add a an alias for active sync to your Apache config eg.
.htaccess file (adapt to path of your installation!) and restart Apache:

Alias /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
/usr/share/egroupware/activesync/index.php
