Problems with filemanager

Hello,
I installed a new server at my home office, and with that I updated egroupware from V1.4004 to 1.6003-2.
I tried in vmware first, and I thought everythink works fine.
Now I can’T download the files that I stored in the old egroupware version on my old server. I just get a blank page. Apache says:

Well, when I reinstalled egroupware I made of course a backup of the old databases.
I copied the databases to the new machine. Also the files stored in /var/egroupware - All files still have the same user rights.

Does anyone have an idea what went wrong?

Hello,

with 1.6 egw gains a new virtual fileystem, some things will be changed, for example:

1.5.011: move sqlfs files from their path based location to the new (hashed) id base one under /sqlfs and removed the not longer used dirs

* after that update you should see in /sqlfs directories with two digits /00 - /99 containing evtl. more dirs (01 - 99) and files with just numbers as names </i>

maybe this will help to solve your problem.

First of all I would check /var/egroupware if the update made its job like described above…

Thanks for the fast answer.
I think I found out what the error is. When I upgrade the databases, I get errors. I don’t now why I didn’t see or react on the errors first time I got them.
I get errors like:

Most of the errors seem to come from files with space or Umlauten (german special chars) in the names…
Now I going to add all the missing files manually (and without space and special chars)

If someone knows a better way to work on that problem, please let me know!

just brainstorming… reagrding the character set referring to your analysis “ger. Umlaute” etc.
with 1.6 comes UTF as standard, earlier versions could have other sets.
Maybe you will check this too.
Edit: By that I mean the character set of the DB.

You’re right with the utf8-standart. The problem is that I installed the new version of egroupware on the new server and copied the files from the old server (via midnight commander). The files permissions were the same, but I think that changing everything was too much. Next time I update on the old system and in the next step i copy the files ont he new server.
Thanks anyway, you brought me to the right conclusion.
Maybe this can help someone else to avoid my mistake.
