hello Oscar
Back from vacation (you know french vacation are so long !..), i am still looking for an answer to my question :
We need to switch from a very bad Provider hosting our eGW 1.0.0009 to a new Provider (so new server) and would like to take this opportunity to upgrade to eGW 1.2.
BUT these two versions are running different components versions like php4 to php5, MySQL4 to MySQL5 and, as we are using especially AddressBook, Infolog, KnowledgeBase, i want to get back my data in the new environnement. So what is the best solution ?
- or to upgrade from 1.0.009 to 1.2 in the actual bad provider machine (so that data are converted in new version) then migrate to the new provider machine.
- or to install the 1.2 application on the new machine then transfer the old database MySQL4 to be converted into MySQL5 ?
- or transfer the old 1.0.009 from the old to the new machine then upgrade version in the new machine ?
What is your opinion Oscar ?
Thanks for advice
Did you check the
Installing
or upgrading to 1.2 article in the knowledge base? Also, you can

to reinstall egroupware.
To migrate from provider, you have to perform some extra setting, like
generating to header.inc.php file corresponding to the new provider
settings (egw directory and db settings) together with the url change
(in /setup, step 2).
I’m modifying the second article in order to try to provide an
accurate way for migrating. I hope the above is enough for a hint.
