Question about feature

Hi.

Little by little, at work, where things are very messed, we’re
investigating for software that solves small pieces for our needs. At
this time, there are two targets in the short time:

A scheduler (job scheduler?). Aimed for admin tasks, so you can
distribute and schedule the jobs to be run in the many servers in the
network.
A “task notifier” (as I can think of it, surely there’s a "formal"
name). This would be a project manager with tasks notifications, so in
one project, you define the tasks in its corresponding order, together
with who has to do every task. When one task is finished, a notification
should be mailed to the team of the next task, and so on.

There’s no egroupware at work, but if any of these features is possible,
it would be a great enhancement. BTW, my boss would love the
"integration with AD" (I never used egw this way, but it’s a valid point
to introduce it in some companies).

Anybody can provide some light about these questions?

I would use InfoLog for that. You can create different custom types for
different tasks, eg. with custom fields for which server, ip, service, etc.

Auth against AD is easy to implement. Accounts get autocreated in SQL or
LDAP. It’s similar to MAIL auth.
