Question about LDAP addressbook

Hiya,

I’ve been testing LDAP contacts on trunk version, but I’m looking for a feature that i think It’s not supplied.

I need to allow users to make a LDAP search in order to obtain an email address. In Horde, or Kontact, you can configure a LDAP server, filter… when a user needs one address he/she can search onto his/her addressbook, or doing a LDAP search.

As I see on trunk version, LDAP feature allows to keep addresbook onto LDAP, but not do a LDAP search linke Horde/Kontact/Evolution.

It will be included?

Hi Pakus,

FMail in trunk does a live-search (auto-completition) in the eGW
Addressbook. There’s no facility to search an other (LDAP) addressbook.

Feel free to open a feature request for that on

With some initial help I’ll try to code part of this feature, LDAP connection, but there’re several design decisions about it.

Hi Pakus,

our (Conny, Lars, Ralf) plans are to allow the admin to add further LDAP
addressbooks (possibly readonly). Users will see this addressbooks in
the Addressbook List as “Addressbooks” (They are not search in “All”).

Then we only need to modify the search in FMail to search all
addressbooks and not only search in “All” (which will not include the
extra LDAP AB’s nor the accounts if they are in LDAP and contacts are not).

I need urgent help please:

• Installed egw trunc from this night
• When I go to “Edit Site” (Seite bearbeiten) in Sitemgr, I see the normal
  egw-site inside the sitemgr’s edit area and the message:

Zugriff verweigert

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in
effect. File(/footer.inc.php) is not within the allowed path(s):

Hi Thomas,

for a quick solution, try reverting sitemgr to revision 22780:
svn update -r 22780 sitemgr

That would help, if the problem is really the bit sitemgr commit / patch
from yesterday.

Do you have a time schedule to realize this feature (reading/searching LDAP-Adressbooks) ?
Furthermore, do you have any idears about writing to LDAP-Servers (allowing egroupware-users to add & modify entries in an LDAP-Adressbook) ?
