What we have done to create a testing copy of Egroupware is to set
production edition to MySQL and the testing edition to Posgres (or you
could use MariaDB). That way you do not mess up your data. For that to
work for your proposes you will have to understand differences between
the two similar database back ends.

Hello,
thank you for tip, but the database is only first step. I do not have
problem to setup “test” version to use another database.
I do not know how to setup EGW1.8 to use another folder at second
virtual host.
EGroupware sources are mapped to /usr/share/egroupware via alias as
/egroupware into every vhost (/etc/(httpd|apache2)/conf.d/egroupware.conf).
I do not know how to make the virtual host 1 use /usr/share/egroupware
and virtual host 2 use /usr/share/egroupware-test.
What do I have to change and in which config files.
