Resources, inventory with Infolog

Hi
Is it possible in any way to keep inventory with Resources?
I mean,
I put in resources service equipment (i.e. 10 computer hard disks)
I open a task in Infolog and make a connection to hard disk resource
In resources, the amount of hard disks become 9 (1 less)

I don’t knw if Resources are meant to be used this way … Should I used some other tool?

I’d been using phpgroupware with inv(entory) application, until phpgroupware (and egroupware) removed it.
I still want to use some type of inventory system in groupware so I can track usage, date, repair info (such as warranty info and vendor/repair shop link), value info (cost and quantity in stock, etc.) and such, and it’s not going to need professional inventory system, just enough for personal use.

I had found inv application very useful until it was dropped. I feel this resource application is on the right track, but I don’t know where the designer is gearing it toward.

Hi,

Resources can be used that way, thought through the calendar.

You can book a number of Resources for an event. If someone else tries
to book more of them then available you get a conflict message.

At the moment Resources do not allow to permanently allocate a resource
somewhere.
