If I remember it right, you have to use tls://hostname

Hi All
I was wondering if the Felamimail client can support secure login to
SMTP. We are trying to add some security to our mail server, and would
like to have SSL encryption with login to allow use of SMTP server. It
already works with Thunderbird, and I have tried replicating those
settings in EGW, but so far, I cannot get email to send.
Just use “ssl://” as hostname and the correct port.
It’s on our list of things to improve …
Ralf
I am having the same issue. Our mail server accept SMTP request as follows:
SMTP Server: mx1.mycompany.com
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal password
User Name: <user’s full email address>
Also I believe that Gmail use same kind of settings.
In eGroupware, I don’t know how to setup this for all the users.
