Slow access for one account only

Hello

I am still on 1.8CE. Server has been very solid for most part, but now have 1 user that has very slow service once logged in. I used an ordinary account set up, and no other users are experiencing such slow access. The only factor that is different is that user has been using Outlook 2013 with caldav/cardav/groupdav connector.

The worst module is calendar, but all other slow to load as well.

I am increasingly under pressure to move to Microsoft server (AD/Exchange/Sharepoint) because “It just works, and anyone can use Microsoft”

Would rather hold the course with eGroupware for a few more years, but this problem is just on top of the issues that Microsoft broke webdav, but the EGW server is being blamed for the file sharing problems.

Your 1.8 is 10 Years old!
You can hardly expect current clients to work properly with it.
Please do an update.

If you are willing to spend a lot of money on it, you could buy support and/or an EPL license from us to run EGroupware stable.
And I can tell you: MS products only run stable if you take care of them constantly. How much have you invested in EGroupware in 10 years(?)…

We are a small non-profit research organization on a tight budget. That is why we haven’t moved on to EPL.

It just seems odd that the one user account has a problem with web-based access. Testing was done with firefox and chrome. I can login with my own account from that PC and there are no problems.

There also does not seem to be a problem when they connect with Outlook to their EGW calendar and the Addressbook.

The extreme slow connection is only with that one user, when they connect using the web interface and try ot use any of the modules.

Does the EGroupware user have access to the mailbox?

That comes from your access to the user account.
Please look there when the user logs in.

Yes they do; I can log in as the user and access all the modules. They all load slow compared to my account, and the calendar is extremely slow.

I appreciate that you are taking the time to assist with this problem. I do not expect you to reply quickly and please do not feel obligated to expend much effort. I was hoping for a reply from someone who had already encountered such an issue and knew the easy fix.

Does the user have a lot of unread mails in his inbox?
If yes, please move everything to a subfolder (with thunderbird or something) except for a few mails.

Does the user have a lot of unread mails in his inbox?

In this context, please check the setting:

Is there anything entered AND does he have a lot of unread mails?
