Thanks for your report.
I just tried this with Add new > Infolog, and the project did show in
the links tab.
We may have fixed this already, or there may be more details involved.
Does the popup URL show something about the desired project after the
menuaction=…?

From within a project, in the element list, using the right click menu,
choosing “Add New” of any type, does not automatically link to the project.
The selectbox by the Add button does this fine, but the right click Add New
does not.
