We have been having a problem with our Infolog entries. The first
evidence for this was that our users started attaching a second project
to some of their Infolog entries. This would generally occur when
someone was creating a new sub Infolog entry. The second project
attached was the first project alphabetically (in our case it starts
with CQ) This led to a problem with the use of statsmind as it would
count the hours worked on a timesheet (linked to the incorrect Infolog)
twice when time was displayed by sub-projects
During the update, a user mentioned something that was annoying them in
using the Infolog. When you are using the Create new links search box,
if you hit enter after typing in the search term, it did not start
searching. You had to hit the > button for the search to occur. The user
hadn’t noticed that hitting enter would change the content of the
Contact dropdown display (At the top of the Infolog page) If the
contact dropdown menu was empty, it would display the first addressbook
entry (alphabetically). If it already displayed a project, the project
would change into the first project. If the user then saved the Infolog,
the Infolog would have either
- just have the project that comes first on the list - if the project
was being edited.
- have two projects tied to it (the original one, and the project that
comes first in the project list) - this occurs if the user was adding a
sub at the time and then did the actions above)
If the dropdown menu beside contact was not set at the time (this occurs
when you start a new Infolog), but you change the module being displayed
(to Infolog from Addressbook) then the list produced will be for that
module.
I tried testing it on the egroupware demo (on egroupware.org’s website)
however this doesn’t occur. I am unsure if this is due to a
configuration of my machine or that the demo is running the EPL9.1 version.
While we just upgraded to version 1.6.002, we had the same symptoms on
our 1.4 install (I just hadn’t figured out how it was happening yet).
The 1.6 version is running on Ubuntu 9.04/PHP5.2.6/mysql
I can’t test what exactly happens on our older 1.4 version as I have
shut it down to keep the server room cooler during our current heatwave.
Thank you in advance
