SVN PROPFIND broken

Hi!

Since today, I cannot svn update the existing eGroupware trunk and 1.8:

$ svn update phpgwapi
Authentication realm: http://svn.egroupware.org:80 Read access to
Stylite branches on svn.egroupware.org
svn: PROPFIND of
’/egroupware/branches/Stylite-EPL-10.1/phpgwapi/inc/class.groupdav_hooks.inc.php’:
authorization failed: Could not authenticate to server: rejected Basic
challenge (http://svn.egroupware.org)

There is neither a diff not is there a local reference to the
Stylite-EPL-10.1 branch here, except for the defaults in the files:
./doc/rpm-build/.svn/text-base/checkout-build-archives.php.svn-base
./doc/rpm-build/checkout-build-archives.php

You can reproduce this problem by:
$ svn checkout
http://svn.egroupware.org/egroupware/branches/1.8/aliases/default .
$ svn up -r 32000 phpgwapi/
$ svn up phpgwapi/

I guess, this could be related to the groupdav.htaccess change with the
redirect for PROPFIND, which hits not only some groupdav clients but
also the SVN communication?

Can you please fix it?

Hi Hans-Jürgen,

this was really wired: problem was phpgwapi/inc/class.groupdav_hooks.inc.php

It was added by a merge from Stylite-EPL-10.1 branch. This is not a
problem with merges to existing files, but it seems to require read
rights to the source file of the merge for newly added files, in that
case from the not public accessible Stylite-EPL-10.1 branch.

Anyway I removed it and copied it again directly from Trunk: now
everything is working again.

OK, interesting. Thanks for digging this down.

it would be quite nice if these branches would be removed from SVN as it
breaks git as frontend, too.
Git walks down all revisions fetching all branches/tags and wont continue as
the HTTP-auth-request occurs.

Unfortunatly this would create a huge amount of work for us (Stylite
developers), with little to none benefit

If you want to reporoduce the behaviour with git try this (might take some
time ;)):

git svn clone http://svn.egroupware.org/egroupware --trunk=trunk
–branches=branches --tags=tags

Beeing able to use git as VCS would be nice, as switching versions in an
production-environment would take as long as issuing two git-commands (and
running the upgrade-php-script). This is not really doable using svn…

That wrong, simply use the following command:

cd /path/to/egroupware
./svn-helper.php switch
http://svn.egroupware.org/egroupware/branches/1.8/$module

It switches a trunk or 1.6 branch checkout to 1.8 branch.
