Svn update --- db affected without upgrade/of apps

I attempted a svn update to get all the latest goodies. To my disapointment i needed php 5.2 and I was not prepared to install that tonight.

So after the update i went to login to EGW and gave me the error for php 5.2. No bigg deal I copied my working version of egw with my mods back. Everything appeared fine but then all my etemplates created over the last 6 months were gone (not in the db anymore).

Should this be usual behavior? It has never happened before. I can do a egw restore from yesteday but loose all of our work for today. I was thinking maybee I can dissect a back up and only restore etmeplate.

Any suggestions? Also when ever I do a restore through egw alot of my html in my sitemanager is never restored properly :-(.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, Trunk requires now php5.2 or php5.3.

Everything appeared fine but then all my etemplates created over the last 6

Did you saved them under the same version as the stock eTemplates? If
that’s the case, it’s the regular behavior, that they get overwritten.
Whenever the $app/setup/etemplate.inc.php file changes (eg. because you
updated the sources), it get automatically imported.

Should this be usual behavior? It has never happened before. I can do a
egw restore from yesteday but loose all of our work for today. I was
thinking maybee I can dissect a back up and only restore etmeplate.

Just restore egw_etemplates table.

No idea, why the restore should not work with SiteMgr.

I was up to the we hours last night. I dissected a backup and started working with a CSV of etemplate data. I deleted the current etemplate rows and restored it from my CSV data.

The data would not hold. EGW is going to $app/setup/etemplate.inc.php and rewriting the data in the db after the restore. (Keep in mind nothing else has changed to the best of my knowledge).

I should have done a dump to setup writing my changes to ($app/setup/etemplate.inc.php) but I will know better next time.

I even copied and pasted the serialized data from latest version to the reverted on write into the db using an mysql editor but EGW would still overwrite it from $app/setup/etemplate.inc.php.

So I went to ($myapp/setup/etemplate.inc.php) and replaced the serialized data on the same form and it would not render.

I finally removed $myapp/setup/etemplate.inc.php in the affected apps and did the restore again and success. Toped it off with a dump for setup.

This has never happened before. I am outdated now with my svn version so I can’t ask for any help :-P.

Thanks ralf. You’ll see me again after my os and php upgrades. My linux skills are worse then my egroupware skills. That does not say much :-P.
