Syncml support in latest versions of EGW

In the latest stable community edition, does syncml still work?

I know it’s deprecated, but could be installed on older versions, is that
still the case with whatever is current?

It’s not included anymore, it was deprecated for quite some time.

Use either CalDAV/CardDAV or ActiveSync.

I know that Ralf, the question is can I still install it and use it on
16.x regardless of the fact that it’s deprecated.

Unless ActiveSync/ESync has had some improvements since 14.1, it was next to
useless on IOS 9.x devices in our tests, after 12+ hours it still hadn’t
finished syncing either calendars or contacts, only partially completed, my
recollection was onty 50 of 400 contacts and only a small number of calendar
items.

That’s the reason we are choosing to stick with SyncML, it works…

you saying that Card/CalDAV together support all 4 classes of data?

That’s the reason we are choosing to stick with SyncML, it works…

So does CalDAV, and very well, at least on IOS 10.x devices.

As I don’t own one myself, I can’t tell about CardDAV.

I am using CalDAV and CardDAV on Android, and I can say that calendars,
tasks and contacts can be synced with the appropriate apps on the
device. I never tried to sync notes and don’t know if there is an app to
do so.

On IOS, my only experience is with calendar, and this works very well. I
think contacts should cause no problem either, bud I don’t know about
tasks and notes.

Actually since I’ve upgraded fom 14.1 to 14.3, ESync is actually working
quite well for calendars on the IOS 9.x test device, will need have to setup
a new device with no data and see what happens for all the data categories.
