SyncML synchronization with SyncEvolution is broken

Hi,

Since eGroupware 1.8.001.20110805 I can’t sync with SyncEvolution anymore.

Any idea what’s wrong ?

Hi,

I found the problem.

It can be reproduced with SyncEvolution 0.9 and 0.12 on Maemo platform with a
Nokia N900.

Since eGroupware 1.8.001.20110805, SyncEvolution gets a SyncML status 415
(Unsupported media type or format) because of the CDATA tags introduced by
Subversion revision 35691.

The problem can be solved by the following patch :

— phpgwapi/inc/horde/Horde/SyncML/State.orig.php 2011-08-15

I can’t imagine SyncEvolution behaviour is different on Maemo than on an other
Linux platform.

I created a well documented bug report for that issue (#3020) but still no
answer…

I talked with our SyncML maintainer Jörg Lehrke briefly about you bug
report, while he is on holiday:

It seems to depend on the SyncEvolution version or maybe platform. He
uses SyncEvolution on Android and it requires the CDATA.

Can you check what your $deviceInfo[‘model’] reports. Maybe we can use
it to differentiate between the different requirements.

$deviceInfo[‘model’] has the value “SyncEvolution” so we cannot make Maemo
an exception based on the content of that variable.

The change refers to the bug report #2975 which concern the same platform
(Maemo) and device (Nokia N900)…
