I have some sync tests withs Thunderbird (new Funambol sync contacts and lightning calendar) and with my palm (Tungsten E).
Sync with TB (for the moment 1.5 but soon in TB 2) :
Works VERY fine but I had to modify the class.vacaladdressbook.inc.php fine, in order to set the defaultsFields to 1 instead of 0. Without this, adresses and other fields were not sync. Since this sync will be very popular (I think), it should be a good idea to update the parser file including this client.
Sync with palm :
I have located the bug about the emails sync : unfortunatly, palm OS contact do not support the emails attributes in Vcard transfered (EMAIL:WORK or EMAIL:HOME) and insert the two emails in the same item (Vcard transfered appears like this : EMAIL:xxx@xx.x EMAIL:yyy@YY.Y). There is no way to correct this in the palm device. So, If you sync a contact with two emails from the palm to EgW, only the second in the vcard list apears in EgW (the first is replaced by the second). The sync from EgW to palm contacts works fine, all the fields are transfered with Synthesis but in the same way I had to set the defaultField to 1.
Note that this “two emails problem” is present with new palm devices (Tx), the vcard generated by the palm is the same (without Work or home attribute).
A few month ago, I have contacted the Synthesis client developpers, and they said to me that nothing can be done on this side … and they said that this could be easely corrected by EgW like it is done in other applications (conduits). I don’t know if it’s easy to indicate to EgW that if there is two different emails with the same field (EMAIL:) without attribute one must be stored in “wok” and the second in “home”…
I know i’ts not a crucial problem, but Palm users lost data and must re-insert them manually.
I can help debugging, but I’m not familliar with the EgW code. If someone can help, thak you.
