Hello,
I would like to test the trunk, but use our productive DB. Can I
upgrade that DB with an installation of 1.9 and let the old 1.8
installation work on that updated DB for all the other users?
Something like
egw_database > 1.8 egw -> normal user
egw_database > 1.9 egw -> test user
and being egw_database the same for both instances of egroupware.
Thanks,
Christoph
I’d have a testing distro installed in a virtual machine and just copy
the database over (e.g. through exporting on the 1.8 and importing on the 1.9).
Assuming that test user mostly does /testing/ things and his changes/proceedings
wouldn’t need to go back to the 1.8 database where normal ‘production’ happens,
and the ‘testing’ instance is not meant to be used in production anyway,
and normal users need not know about the ‘testing’ instance till it’s ready to be
’production’.
