Thunderbird lightning - numerous users created

Devs,

When using Thunderbird Lightning to access the egw calendar, a new

login or session is opened each time Lightning refreshes the calendar
(default every 30 min.). The problem is Lightning does not logout
leaving the user logged in. That 24 user logins that build up during one
day. See screenshot:

Is this a problem that egw should take care of, or, do I need to report

this to the lightning devs?

Hi David,

I also noticed that.

I think we can only deal with it on the basis of the user-agent string.
We send a cookie with the session with every request. Lightning seems
not to send the cookie back and therefore opens a new session with every
request. Other clients (like eg. KOrganizer) send the cookie back and
use the existing session. Thought none of them has a means to log off.

Maybe we should close the session immediatly after each iCalServer,
GroupDAV and WebDAV request.

PHP uses unfortunately only a single value, you can’t set it for a
specific session, unless you create your own garbage collection …

As that is not universally working, so I prefer not to.
