Tracker / Mail handling issue?

Hello.

I have been unsuccessfully trying to configure the Mail Handling for the
Tracker. Independently the parameters set I’m receiving a cronjob mail
with the following content

tracker_mail handler::check_mail failed to open
mailbox:{mail.xxxxx.xx:110/pop3}INBOX

I have verified and a connection is never established with the mail
server (imap or pop3 is irrelevant) I checked using tcpdump, the mail
server logs, etc. However I can connect without any problem the mail
server from the web server with i.e. telnet mail.xxxxx.xx pop3, etc.

I’m running eGroupWare Version 1.6.003 on openSuse 11.1 (XEN), PHP
Version 5.2.12.

May I ask for an opinion/hint?

If you enter the same credentials (using IMAP) with felamimail, can you
access the
mailbox in question?

Yes, felamimail with IMAP is working since long without any problem with
this mailbox.

The “interesting” point is that there is no attempt to build a connection
with the mail server, tcpdump is showing no traffic at all.
