Trying to setup SiteMGr

Hi,
I’m using EGW 1.8 and have got most of the applications working.

I am now trying to get the sitemgr application working and was following the instructions at http://wiki.egroupware.org/index.php?page_name=wiki&lang=&wikipage=Sitemgr+Administrator+Manual

The sitemgr application is installed (at least according to the setup ->manage apps page)

There are a number of issues I hit.

Trere is no directory /egroupware/sitemgr/sitemgr-link to move. There is a file sitemgr-link.php

When I try to navigate to the sitemgr app I get

Invalid template directory ‘/var/www/egroupware/sitemgr/sitemgr-site/templates/’ !!!

What do I need to do to make it work?
Where did the sitemgr-link directory go?

I’ve spent about an hor trying to track down this issue in the forum, but have not been able to find any real solution or explanation, and apologise if this seems trivial.

Would I get an answer if we were paying for support?

I’m confused, I am trying to promote EGW into a new business, with the intention of having them both purchase an EPL license but also hopefully get more involved in the EGW project.

Unfortunately I am having a real issue with the complete lack of response, helpful or other wise to queries.

At this stage I am not able to spend too much time in the detail myself ( I have 30+ yrs development experience), but I had hoped to avoid getting into the code with what seems to be a simple config/permissions issue.

Sure, thought that does not mean you are not getting answers via our lists.

Difference is we (Stylite AG) answer on the list when we have have time
to spare, while supporting our (paying) customers is an obligation.

I got it working by going to the confguration and changing templates!

It had defaulted to idots, but that was giving the error.

As soon as I picked another template, bingo!

For me this is not a very good introduction to the software as it is such a trivial issue and I have had a number of people pulled off other work to see what I had done wrong.

Initially we assumed it was something in the permissions of the template directory, as the directory it said was invalid did exist.

So, the question is, either:

what is wrong with the idots template
or
what does the default installation fail to identify the template directory as…/path to/templates/idots for the default?

so that seems to be working…

Hi,
I got it working by going to the confguration and changing templates!

Just tried a new 1.8.005 install and it defaults to ja_purity template.
I can switch to idots without problem.

What I found is, that a new 1.8.005 does not create a usable anonymous
user, that is fixed now in SVN. Allready installed new 1.8.005 can fix
it by setting a new password in Admin >> Manage accounts AND SiteMgr

Define Websites.

As soon as I picked another template, bingo!

Nothing for me, see above.

or

Default install uses a template path relative to EGroupware install
directory, thought that’s working for me too.
