Webinar EGroupware smallPART: Video supported learning

Dear EGroupware users,

From next week on, EGroupware will offer a new application for video-based teaching and learning. We are pleased to announce our cooperation with the Technical University of Kaiserslautern with Prof. Dr. Thyssen (didactics of biology) and Arash Tolou (Research assistent padagogy & didactics of biology).

The cooperation’s goal is to create a scientifically based learning platform in EGroupware and is scheduled for at least three years. In the first step we will publish an application under the acronym smallPART that enables video-based teaching and learning.

On Thursday, May 14th, 2020 at 15:00 (CEST) we offer a free webinar (language german) about
smallPART: video-based learning and teaching

The webinar is particularly aimed at employees of schools, universities and educational institutions of all kinds, but also demonstrates learning opportunities through automation and process analysis. We are pleased that Professor Thyssen will be present at the webinar as a co-presenter and can thus provide background information on smallPART and the didactic approaches. We will show the easy use of the tool and demontrate application scenarios in practice.

Planned content:

• What is behind smallPART? Learning takes place with / in the video and not only in a text analysis of the video
• Simple operation for teachers and students: create a course, insert a video and add a task
• smallPART courses: Add participants to courses or assign a password for self-registration, watch video and tasks in the course and comment with the colour code (red, green, white) in the running video
• Use case 1 - Interactive lecture video: Background and practical implementation
• Use case 2 - Analysis of processes e.g. work in the laboratory, equipment operation or driving school situation: Automation and process analysis with easy learning & feedback
