Last Friday our Egroupware was working just fine. Over the weekend we
had planned building shutdown and Monday Egroupware woudl not come up
properly. I decided to do a full system upgrade of Ubuntu 14.04 which
included Egroupware.
Once that was accomplished Egroupware would not run. All I could get was
a blank screen. Something was apparently happening but I could not get
to a setup or a login screen.
I read some of the recent issues here and discovered that I probably
need to install the Egroupware-epl-compat package and I did install it.
I guess you were using a 14.x version of eGroupware. We had something
similar when we moved our eGroupware-setup from an Ubuntu 14.04 server
to a fresh 16.04 install (and upgraded from 14.x to 16.x “on the fly”).
If so, you need to install the epl-compat package if you had deprecated
apps in your old setup (wiki and some others).
After that, you can restore the database of your old system (login to
the setup-page, load the backup-file and restore it). After the
restore, eGroupware will show you if it went good, and if yes,
eGroupware should run fine again (even better :-)).
