Upgrade to release 1.8.004

Hi,
I upgraded to release 1.8.004 through my server automatic upgrade.
server using yum.
After login in I got a blank page and message ¨Database Error¨

There was a massage in Egroupware-install.log

Fri Apr 6 09:20:28 EST 2012

rpm_post_install.php must NOT be called as web-page --> exiting !!!

So looks like egroupware didn upgrade properly.
I appreciate for any advise.

SOLVED

I went to Egroupware/setup and upgraded database to latest version

rpm_post_install.php must NOT be called as web-page --> exiting !!!

That’s strange, this should only happen if you call the rpm post-install
script via a web-browser.

What Linux distro and version are you using?

So looks like egroupware didn upgrade properly.
I appreciate for any advise.

As you already answered yourself: you can run the upgrade manually by
visiting setup.

Thanks for yours reply.

I’m using SME Server 8.0beta7 which is based on CentOS 5.7
The previous upgrade of Egroupware went through without any issues.

I’m using SME Server 8.0beta7 which is based on CentOS 5.7
The previous upgrade of Egroupware went through without any issues.

Do you have access to commandline of that server and can you call any of
our provided commandline scripts, eg.

cd /usr/share/egroupware
setup/setup-cli.php

Or do all give that “must NOT be called as web-page” error?

Ralf,

I run script

setup/setup-cli.php

and got few messages that Egroupware version, db, and configuration is up to date.

I remember that yum throw error message around file 29 during update I think.

File 29 means nothing to me.

The error-message and following abort get triggered, if
$_SERVER[‘HTTP_HOST’] is set, which should not, if called from the
command line.

As you are the only one to report that right now, I will ignore it 'til
more reports are made.

Can you post the output from “/usr/bin/php -i” from you system. It might
be it’s not a cli but a cgi binary.

Hi Peter,

your output from “/usr/bin/php -i” can NOT be from the same php
interpreter running the post-install script, as $_SERVER[‘HTTP_HOST’] is
NOT set, which is the expected behavior and would not trigger aborting
with the error message “can not be called as web-page”.

Maybe for some wired reason you have HTTP_HOST set in your shell
enviroment, that would trigger the described behavior when using yum to
install egroupware.
